"Last year Sharon didn't have a ham license but she tried operating in the
contest and found she really liked it. This year she was back with a General
class ticket (W5YAA) and a lot more experience. She did a terrific job
operating. It was great fun to operate the SS phone and enjoy friends as
well." - K5NA
"My wife drove the 150 miles back from Dallas to Temple after my business
meetingended today so I could operate some. I set up on the spur of the
moment, but did use TR Log on a laptop rather than try to write things
down by hand. A headset and a footswitch would have really helped." - KE5C
"I worked every section more than once, and at least one station
from each section called me. I love operating at the W5KFT ranch,
although it's sometimes a real challenge to keep the contest spirit
going when it's a gorgeous fall day and the sunshine is sparkling
off the lake just outside your window!" - WM5R (@ W5KFT)
"I just got on to work friends. I decided to just play around until I found
them or they found me. Five hours later, I have a sore throat!" - W5VX
"It was tough to break through the big guns with my 100 watts and low
dipoles, but I appreciate the courtesy and patience of the operators
who dug me out. I can't wait until next year with higher dipoles and
beams on 40, 20, 15, and 10 meters!" - AD0K
